Our practice owner, Dr. Janette Ellison, grew up on a cattle farm in southern West Virginia where barn cats and calves were her pets. After ten years of general veterinary practice, she established The Cat Hospital of Fairfax, Inc. in 1991, in order to focus on feline care. In addition to cats and calves, Dr. Ellison has a passion for football, especially college football. West Virginia University and Purdue University, where she received her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees, receive her greatest fan loyalty.
Sandra Marshall, D.V.M.
Dr. Sandra Marshall is a 2002 graduate of the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been practicing small animal medicine in Northern Virginia since 2003, and has recently begun relief work at numerous hospitals in the area. This allows clinic owners some much deserved time away from their hospitals for vacation or continuing education to enhance their veterinary knowledge and skills. Her professional interests include small animal medicine, particularly feline medicine and endocrinology; client communication and education; and pain management.
Terri Kenley, LVT
Terri came to The Cat Hospital of Fairfax in December 2013. In the early 80's she studied and graduated from Harcum College in Pennsylvania where she majored in Animal Health Technology and minored in Laboratory Animal Science. Terri spent 7 years at a local veterinary surgical practice and, more recently, 10 years working at a local 6-doctor, dog/cat/exotics animal hospital. Her particular interests are in laboratory work and in imaging (radiology/ultrasound). She has held various board positions with the Virginia Association of Licensed Veterinary Technicians, including President, and in 1994 received the Virginia Veterinary Technician Of The Year Award.

Hi! My name is Riley and I live at The Cat Hospital of Fairfax, Inc. You might see me sun bathing by the front door. I love to greet all of our guests when they come to visit! Dr. Ellison and my friends who work here take very good care of me, I especially love when they treat my arthritis with the soothing Laser Therapy machine (and I look fabulous in those goggles!) Ask them about this treatment, it really does wonders!
